raspberry oatmeal squares

Oatmeal Base:
1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
1 cup light brown sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
2 cups old fashioned rolled oats, divided

1 cup raspberry jam

Preheat oven to 170C and place rack in center of oven.
Butter a 9 x 9 inch (23 x 23 cm) pan. Set aside.

Oatmeal Base:
In a bowl cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract and beat until incorporated.
In a separate bowl whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Add to the butter mixture and mix until well combined.
Stir in 1 3/4 cups of the rolled oats. Press 2/3 of the dough into the bottom of the prepared pan.

Spread the raspberry jam over the oatmeal base. To the remaining dough add the remaining 1/4 cup of rolled oats. Crumble this mixture evenly over the top of the raspberry jam.
Bake for about 25 - 30 minutes or until nicely browned.
Place on a wire rack to cool and then cut into squares.
Makes about 16 - 2 inch squares.

These are best if made the day before serving. Store leftovers in the refrigerator.

agar-agar karamel

A - dijadikan gula hangus
2 senduk gula
1/2 cwn air

B - didihkan semua sehingga larut
1 pkt serbuk agar-agar
4 cawan air
2 senduk gula (telah dikurangkan)

C - sebatikan semua dan masukkan dlm B
2 sudu besar tepung kastard
1 tin susu cair
1 sudu teh esen vanilla

gulai ikan masin
dah lama tak masak ni. semalam adik ipar datang, masak lah ni makan ramai-ramai. makan dengan sambal belacan, udang goreng cereal dan ulam-ulam beli kat pasar tani..

african marble cake

ramai yang dah cuba resepi ni. sedap! lembut dan kurang manis kek ni.

Ingredients :
250 g Self-raising flour
200 g castor sugar
4 eggs
1 tablespoon ovellate
1 teaspoon baking pawder
2 tablespoon condensed milk
50 g water
175 g butter - melted

chocolate & pandan emulco

Method :
1. Beat all the ingredients except melted butter and emulco, till thick and double the quantity.
2. Pour in the melted butter and mix well.
3. Remove about 10 tablespoons of batter and add the emulco to it. Mix well.
4. Pour the plain batter into the tray then pour a dollop of the emulco batter here and there to create pattern.
5. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 160 C for 45 minutes till done.
6. Leave the cake in the tin for 5 minutes before removing.

egg benedict

2 biji telur
2 keping roti putih yang telah di buang bahagian tepinya
lada hitam - freshly cracked

1. Sapukan mentega pada bekas ramekin.
2. Letakkan sekeping roti di dalam bekas ramekin. Sapukan mentega pada roti dan taburkan sedikit lada hitam dan garam.
3. Pecahkan sebiji telur ke atas roti. Tabur lagi sedikit lada hitam dan garam. Boleh juga ditaburkan sedikit keju jika suka.
4. Bakar pada suhu 180 C selama 15-20min atau hingga telur putih masak dan telur kuning cair sedikit.

last night we dine at Saba Restaurant to marked our 12th anniversary together. prepared egg benedict served with baked beans and grilled sausage for breakfast on a lazy sunday :)
